Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier 1 supplier of Acoustic and Thermal Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a strong and motivated individual to fill the position of Program Manager for Asian OEM accounts at our Regional Headquarters in Troy, Michigan.

The program Manager has the overall responsibility to meet program timing, performance, quality, profitability and investment recovery objectives.The program manager accomplishes this through the use of the APG PDP Process using the PO360 tool for planning, management and reporting.The program Manager is accountable for management of program team, customer program strategy and team execution of program deliverables. The program responsibility begins at Order in House (Gate 2) and ends at SOP+90 days (Gate 6) with successful delivery of all PDP deliverables.

Responsibilities of the Program Manager

  1. Secure program profitability: Exceed Program EBITDA / CM Targets.
  2. Maintain customer relationship: Meet customer milestones on time and with zero quality demerits.
  3. Tooling Optimization: Optimize tooling budget performance, collect customer recoverables early / on time.
  4. Capital Expenditure (CAPEX): Optimization and re-use of current assets, driving minimal investment.
  5. Flawless program launch: Develop/maintain strong relationship with operations team, driving full accountability to launch success meeting all launch metrics.
Duties of the Program Manager

  • Develop and manage the Program Master Plan supporting PDP process within the PO360 system.
  • Ensure program team adherence to the company PDP System (Product Development Process).
  • Provide leadership to the Program team members to secure deliverables to the customer.
  • Lead customer Engineering and Quality interfaces during the program development period.
  • Maintain close communication and develop relationships with the program team.
  • Coordinate all pre-production manufacturing and delivery activities.
  • Support customer engineering changes from order in house through SOP + 90 Days.
  • Work with Purchasing team to integrate and develop tier 2 suppliers as necessary.
  • In conjunction with management, optimize capital re-use for the program.
  • Establish and execute a program profitability roadmap with actions and timing using FSR tool.
  • Prepare and present monthly program status reports to senior management.
  • Execute program gate reviews according to PDP timeline
  • Evaluate and present program risks with supporting evidence for upper management decision making.
  • Integrate and lead contingency plans when necessary.
  • Manage tooling budget and timely collection of funds with sales, customer and finance.
  • Ensure recovery of all other program related cost from customers during program phases.
  • Lead the program team and ensure a successful launch at production facilities.
  • Obtain final program approval from the customer according to the Master Plan (PPAP, PSW, Note 1, etc).
  • May be required to travel, work overtime and lift heavy components.
  • Required to adhere to applicable TS16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Required to adhere to all health and safety requirements at the production plants.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements for the Program Manager
  1. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent job experience.
  2. PMP Certification or equivalent a plus
  3. Work experience may be substituted for formal education.
  4. Excellent customer interface skill
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Excellent team management skills to maintain accountability to plan while maintaining team engagement.
  7. Excellent ownership of outcome and skills in situational awareness
  8. Microsoft Office - Power Point, Excel, MS Project
  9. SAP experience helpful
  10. APQP, DFMEA / PFMEA knowledge or experience
  11. GD&T knowledge or experience
  12. Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience preferably in automotive interior trim/acoustics.
