Job Description

This position is responsible for the oversight of the Spine program which includes maintaining certification as a The Joint Commission (TJC) Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery. This position is directly responsible for data collection, review, analysis, and trending of quality metrics and maintains a concurrent joint registry that meets compliance for the TJC certification. Participates in program planning, organization, and development with Hospital Leadership, Director of Neuroscience Services and the Medical Director. The position collaborates with specialty care departments and patient care units regarding all aspects of Advanced Spine Center Certification care from pre-hospitalization to rehabilitation and serves as a liaison between physician practices, community resources, and the hospital. The Spine Program Coordinator acts as a resource for facilitating staff development and other special projects. Serves as a quality and program process improvement coordinator. Assists with educational opportunities identified by specific data trends report by the data and medical director of the program.

  • Responsible for planning, managing and evaluating the administrative operations of the SLHS Spine Center to ensure optimal productivity and daily patient flow.
  • Effective allocation of resources to meet demand for services, patient and provider satisfaction and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work involves direct collaboration with the System Director of Neuroscience and Spine Medical Director to ensure that center administrative operations meet established business objectives and strategic growth objectives.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team regarding all aspects of care for patients within objectives.
  • Additional duties include performance improvement, data collection and review, and trending of quality metrics.
  • This position serves as a liaison between the hospital and other facilities, physicians, and pre hospital providers.
  • Acts as a resource, facilitating spine program and other projects.


Previous healthcare program coordination preferred.
Obtains TJC Advanced Spine Center Certification and all regular standards required.

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Various

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
