The Safety Manager is responsible for directing and providing safety program oversight and improvement. The position develops and implements behavior-based safety practices; manages development of site specific safety plans; ensures compliance with Global and Regional Corporate Rules, OSHA, and client safety requirements; and conducts root-cause analyses of health and safety incidents. Provide safety leadership and work closely with the Operations, Legal, Quality, and Leadershipto create, maintain, and promote a high value on safety and communicate clearly to stakeholders about safety responsibilities, safety aims, and objectives within the business. Serve as the primary contact on safety issues and as the regional safety expert with clients, regulators, and company staff. Serve as the primary contact on safety issues and as the Americas safety expert with clients, regulators, and company staff. Satisfy customer requirements by participating in monthly site meetings with customers on OH&S issues, when required. Create, manage, and review site-specific safety plans. Establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in Health and Safety that includes conducting job-site safety audits. Maintain the accident and ‘near miss’ records and prepare reports for the Health and Safety Committee and Leadership,using statistical and other analytical tools. Inform HR of accidents or incidents that require notification. Manage internal incidents; ensure that safety emergencies and injuries are properly addressed, documented, and reported. Ensure that a thorough accident management system is in place, to undertake risk assessment processes to identify hazards and to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place Manage compliance with OSHA regulations. Review and develop all aspects of Swisslog’s Health and Safety Policy, and ensure that it is implemented consistently throughout the business. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, Site Health and Safety Managers, Regional Managers, local representatives, and subcontractors. Lead and direct the Safety Committee with quarterly meetings Review all contract documents and subcontractor safety programs to ensure they are compliant with Corporate, OSHA, and contractual safety regulations and obligations. Identify required safety training needed in each department and organize if needed Ensure that appropriate training records are renewed and maintained in compliance with legal requirements to include OSHA. Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new, and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure that Swisslog has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance. Provide proper training to staff and project personnel in emergency response plan procedures Occasionally it may be necessary to carry out other duties as required by the business. Report monthly the results of audits, incidents, and other safety actions to your line manager to present in the Senior MGMT meetings monthly Application Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree required Required licenses or certifications:

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) CPR/First Aid

A minimum of 7 years’ safety-related experience is required in material handling, industrial manufacturing, engineering, or construction. . Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements. Experience managing and/or conducting OSHA investigations. Experience working in formalized management control systems. Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to research facts and data from internal and external sources. Strong leadership and supervision experience, particularly in supervising off-site personnel. Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively motivate employees, communicate objectives and action plans, and establish positive relationships with stakeholders. Ability to implement behavioral-based safety techniques to improve and foster a growing safety culture.

Desirable: Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer 40-Hour HAZWOPER certificate ISO 45001 or OHSAS 180001 A minimum of 10 years’ safety related experience is desirable A background in automated material handling equipment and implementation Industrial and Construction Safety knowledge as it relates to automated material handling equipment.
