General Purpose

The Product Manager of Payments manages Alpine Bank's suite of payment products and services within the Digital Banking area of the bank. This position is responsible for being the expert on rules and regulations around these products and assisting with the development and execution of the payment's product roadmap.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Assists with the development and execution of the payment's product roadmap in the Digital Banking area of the bank, including managing the backlog, and understanding how to prioritize project requests based on changing requirements.
  • Stays up to date with all payment intermediaries (TPS and TPSP) rule compliance and communicates payment related rules, regulations and any regulatory compliance changes to customers and bank staff.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, efficiency, and continued growth of our existing digital products and services; including but not limited to ACH, wires, Zelle, FedNow, bill pay, and external transfers.
  • Acts as the expert on all rules and regulations related to payment services managed by this role; including but not limited to, Nacha Rules and regulations on real time payments.
  • Spearheads upgrades and enhancements to the Bank's payment's products and services within the Digital Banking area of the bank and coordinates system changes with other areas within the bank.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with management, other product managers, location management, and various other internal departments to initiate and develop outstanding payment services.
  • Leads projects, and potentially teams or provides direction to junior staff on less complex payments initiatives.
  • Assists in creating training for internal banking staff on the systems to enable them to better meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Advises on updates to product agreements, risk assessments and policies and proactively notifies management and stakeholders of risks, issues, and concerns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Displays excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to share technical expertise with team members and subordinates.
  • Strong understanding of digital banking systems, information technology systems and software with a high proficiency in the use of Adobe, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and risk requirements.
  • Self-motivated, works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
  • Skill in obtaining information and identifying key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal or vision.
  • Understanding how to identify problems and willingness to make recommendations to address them.

    • Skill in understanding customer needs and delivering unsurpassed customer service.

Education or Formal Training:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree with focus in Technology, Design, Entrepreneurship, Analytics, Marketing, Business, or similar field is preferred.
  • CTP, AAP, AIPMM or related field certification a plus.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Drivers' License, required.
Experience:
  • A minimum of two to three (2-3) years working in the Financial Services industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year working in the Digital Banking environment or similar is preferred.
  • A minimum of at least Two (2) years of product management or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education is preferred.


Working Conditions

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Occasional travel to conferences, meetings and branch locations, evening and weekend work should be anticipated. The ability to work remotely from home may be an option, within a minimum of 2 days a week in the office required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee also may have to lift up to 25 lbs.

Starting Rate of Pay is from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
