Responsibilities

Job Summary/Overview:

The HR Manager is responsible for coaching and guiding managers on people management processes and issues, including performance management and general employee relations matters. Acting as an employee champion and change agent, this key individual will provide counsel and guidance to employees, conduct fact-findings as needed, support enterprise strategies to assist the Corporate Functions in increasing talent acquisition and onboarding effectiveness.

The HR Manager will act as a key partner facilitating the alignment of strategic business objectives with people strategies and execution efforts.

  • Operates as a HR consultant to employees and managers on employee relations issues to facilitate the resolution of work-related conflicts and promote increased communications
  • Advises managers on complex employee relations issues (e.g. discipline, coaching, performance management)
  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and maintains related records and files; administration of progressive discipline/corrective actions as it relates to performance matters
  • Leads site activities related to driving engagement and sustaining a positive work environment
  • Assists employees with the interpretation of Company policies and respond to queries, concerns and grievances
  • Leads Performance Management process for enterprise; working with TA leads to streamline and ensure Workday support
  • Coordinates and participates in the exit interview process; identifies opportunities and areas of concern requiring follow-up
  • Manages onboarding process and ensures support to both managers and employees as part of new hire process
  • Collaborates with the HR Corporate and Value Center Business Partners and Legal in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs related to employee relations
  • Collaborates on the local delivery of learning and development solutions
  • Identifies continued opportunities to transition routine, transactional work to Shared Services
  • Provides direct support and coverage for HR Business Partner and can serve as back-up as needed


Qualifications

Qualifications/Attributes:

  • BS, BA in HR or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years experience including working in the State of California
  • Able to assess and solve problems that are complex and require consideration of impact on multiple areas
  • Able to drive improvements to current methods and processes significantly and contribute to the creation of new and innovative solutions
  • Understands key human resources areas including recruiting, performance management, employee development and employee relations
  • Experience and successful track record in investigating and resolving employee relations issues
