As a Maintenance and Equipment Mechanic, you will ensure that Baldi’s fleet is kept in optimal operating condition, by determining performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy construction equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with the Shop Manager daily. Your goal while repairing equipment is to get all repairs completed quickly and efficiently, all while staying safe. The Mechanic will abide by all DOT regulations. Y

ou will be responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles, equipment and tools and making repairs accordingly. Mechanics are required to perform a range of duties and responsibilities that can differ from day to day depending on the jobs they are assigned. This can include anything from routine maintenance work to specialized repairs.



  • Knowledge of DOT & CA BIT inspection criteria
  • Build and assemble machines and mechanical components to requirements
  • Inspect machines, engines, transmission, etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover funcionality issues
  • Conduct repairs for maximum reliability
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve in a timely manner
  • Perform thorough maintenace on machinery, Equpment and systems
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
  • Undertake other duties as assigned (ie. repaird hydraulic systems, etc)
  • Electrical diagnostics/repair procedures
  • Engine diagnostics/repair procedures
  • Mechanical experience of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing all types of construction equipment preferred
  • Maintains vehicles, which may include a company’s fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, small portable equipment, and other motor vehicles.
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
  • Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
  • Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
  • Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
  • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
  • Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep logs of work performed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
