Title: Card Services Specialist I

Reports to: Card Services Manager

Supervises: None

Status: Non-Exempt

Objective

The Card Services Specialist is responsible for the daily maintenance and management of the card inventory volume levels. The Card Services Specialist also provides daily support to the Operations/Card Services Department as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administers and oversees daily, weekly, and monthly reports and audits to maintain checks and balances on all issuance and file maintenance exceptions
  • Supports card file maintenance for debit and credit card renewals
  • Issues credit, debit, HSA and ATM plastics
  • Supports in-bound calls on card issues, operations issues and inquiries directly from branch associates to service members
  • Supports in-bound emails for credit card issues such as CLIPS, fee waivers, recasts, etc.
  • Distributes and maintains card stock and supplies to all branches
  • Develops an understanding of Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational procedures
  • Availability to work until 6:00pm during weekdays and Saturday mornings until 1:00pm
  • On a self-directed basis, continues to improve individual level of competency through training and certifications on established educational programs
  • Relates to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions:
    • Can get along with coworkers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes
    • Performs work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with others
    • Responds appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
  • Supports special projects in the Credit Union to improve procedures and new processes
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that all aspects of Operational/Card Services processes are efficient, and member focused
  • Meets or exceeds assigned service and productivity goals established for this position
  • Performs other duties as required by Credit Union management

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Prior experience in card services with a financial/banking institution is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must value a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Professional demeanor
  • Effective communication skills in person and on the phone
  • Basic PC skills (Windows)
  • Proficient typing skills
  • Assertive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years of related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of card processing procedures and requirements
  • Prior Member Service experience within KEMBA Financial Credit Union
  • Basic knowledge of Symitar processing system
  • Experience with serving the public/customer service/call center industry
