Position Overview:

The Senior Audiovisual (AV) Project Manager will oversee the management of large and complex AV projects, particularly new construction and tenant improvement projects ranging from $100K to $3M+. This role involves managing team operations and client communications, interpreting and planning project scope, costs, schedule, risks, and scale to ensure smooth execution from planning to closure.

The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of large-scale, complex construction project management and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills through timely and appropriate decision-making. Key responsibilities include coordinating with customers, installation teams, technical personnel, and subcontractors. Essential skills for this role include excellent communication, multitasking, stress management, responsibility, self-motivation, and organizational abilities.


Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher, preferably in Business Administration or Project Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management within the Audiovisual (AV) or related industry.
  • Must obtain an AVIXA CTS credential within a year.
  • PMP certification from PMI required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Windows, MS Office, and project management software.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and implementation skills to ensure successful project completion by specific deadlines.
  • Experience interpreting and creating instructions in various forms (written, oral, diagram, or schedule).
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills aligned with the company’s core values.
  • Ability to mentor staff in developing design and process skills.


Responsibilities

  • Manage project assignments, including large-scale AV/IT projects designed by both Avidex and consultants.
  • Provide guidance, task delegation, and scheduling for local project management staff.
  • Serve as the primary trainer and mentor for new hires and project management personnel.
  • Assist the estimating team in resource estimation and site surveys as required.
  • Independently or collaboratively plan, coordinate, execute, and finalize multiple projects within time, cost, and scope constraints.
  • Act as the main point of contact and decision-maker during project execution.
  • Develop and oversee project execution schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Assign and manage implementation teams for each project, maintaining accountability and ensuring necessary resources.
  • Prepare and update project documentation throughout each project, including meeting notes, schedules, RFIs, RFCOs, change orders, and final acceptance forms.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement schedules with project timelines.
  • Conduct diagnostic troubleshooting on AV/IT systems and generate punch lists for integration team completion.
  • Ensure all project loose ends are addressed and provide system training to clients.
  • Document all record set changes and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and conventions.
  • Provide mentoring to foster the professional growth of individuals within the organization
