Overview

The Program Analyst II/Unix Administrator position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful technical administration of NOAA systems within the contract. You will be responsible for providing system administration support, monitoring system performance, identifying areas for improvement, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical and technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and work ticket queues in ServiceNow.
  • Actively monitor for unassigned tickets and take ownership to resolve.
  • Process requests for ticket transfer, escalation, or re-assignment.
  • Categorize and assign tickets to the appropriate team.
  • Follow up on customer tickets daily (including tickets belonging to other team members)
  • Troubleshoot & resolve Red Hat Linux v7 & v8 issues in person, by phone or email.
  • Manage DELL equipment: install, repair/upgrade hardware components (RAM, battery, hard drives, etc.)
  • Create, edit or remove users from Active Directory.
  • Perform physical system build imaging including system recovery, disk encryption and profiling.
  • Install new applications, perform system upgrades, migrate user profiles.


Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work independently to execute against sets of procedures and be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Must have 1-3 years experience with Unix Administration, specifically supporting the Red Hat OS platforms
  • Experience with Sunflower Property management software is a plus but not required
  • Requires a knowledge of one or more elements or parts of a supply system, or of supply methods, policies, or procedures

Eligibility/Clearance Requirements: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and is able to be cleared at the Public Trust Level
