Job Summary:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using standards of care and policy and procedure.
  • Triage patients, verify allergies, symptoms & pharmacy.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Organize and prioritize patient care.
  • Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records.
  • Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
  • Review lab and diagnostic test results with patients.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
  • Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Schedule OP radiology procedures and generate referrals as requested by physician.
  • Perform blood draws, urine dips, rapid streps, influenza, mono, CMP, CBC, cardiac inhalation treatments.
  • Start IV's, bladder catheters, injections, EKGs, dressing changes and splinting.
  • Handle specimens and perform lab testing in a timely manner.
  • Assist in ordering reagents, lab supplies, and medical supplies.
  • Clean all surgical instruments and package for sterilization.
  • Audit charts daily for missing charges and diagnosis.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care facility or private physician office.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge, using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
