Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing BSN required, MSN Preferred
  • Enrollment in MSN program within 12 months of hire
  • National Certification Preferred
Experience / Qualifications:
  • RN- Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
  • BLS/ACLS from American Heart Association
  • NRP/S.T.A.B.L.E. Certifications
  • PALS from American Heart Association
  • EFM Certification
  • Inpatient Obstetric and Maternal Newborn Nursing (NCC) certifications or Nursing Professional Development Certification preferred.
Position Summary:

The Women & Children Clinical Educator strives for quality outcomes and innovative practice in accordance with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and the Hospital/departmental policies. The Clinical Educator ensures practice is in accordance with competency required for that area.
  • This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self (or others who are under her/his direction). This is done through participation in quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provides care in a collaborative manner with other disciplines to ensure optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes.
  • In managing patient care the Clinical Educator will take a leadership role coordinating the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with other health team members to enhance patient outcomes.
  • The Clinical Educator will determine training needs, develop training programs, and facilitate education sessions.
  • The Maternal Child Clinical Educator will cover areas including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Labor and Delivery, Pre- and Post-partum and Pediatrics at Jupiter Medical Center.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Office -2 Grip dynamometer 10 seconds/10lbs; pinch thumb and forefinger 10 seconds/2lbs; rotate wrist with 10 lb weight; flex and extend elbow with 10lb weight; raise shoulder 135 degrees forward and shrug shoulders with 10lb weight; squat; kneel on single knee; push and pull stationary cart with force of 40lbs; carry 10lb weight 30 feet; lift 20 lb weight floor to table/table to floor; and lift 10lb weight table to shoulder height.

Threshold Requirements:

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.

  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
