We're currently growing our team of Artisans with a Mechanical Engineering Manager.
This role is responsible for developing new and existing product strategies for the mechanical rental business to enhance project execution, improve profitability and increase revenue. The Mechanical Engineering Manager develops products by identifying potential projects; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Technical engineering review of existing and new products, processes, and procedures to ensure safety and fitness for purpose.
•Lead and develop early-career engineering staff, both technically and professionally.
•Brings new products to market utilizing established project management practices from idea to commercialization including defining requirements, return-on-investment analyses, managing project and technical risks, developing and managing project timelines, stakeholder management, and ensuring all deliverables are completed per the RTI milestone process.
•Manages the manufacturing of protypes of new products, working with the manufacturer to develop timelines, quality requirements, direct yard testing and inspections; working with operations to plan and execute field testing.
•Supports the new product innovation strategy and product plan to create long term differentiation for RTI equipment.
•Manages existing products to improve mechanical functionality, profitability & lifecycle viability.
•Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
•Works cross functionally (Mechanical/Operations) to define core competency synergies, market, and competitive attractiveness for new business opportunities.
•Leads the detailed definition, development, and execution of a new product road map to ensure revenue and profitability goals are achieved.
•Ensures new product development projects meet commercial, end user, and financial objectives.
•Aids management in developing and executing world class new product launches.
•Drives product core value attributes to meet end user needs.
•Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
•Identifies and manages third party manufacturers to ensure competitive acquisition cost and consistent quality.
•Actively practice all RTI Core Behaviors.
•Perform other duties as required to support RTI's business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
•Works cross functionally and indirectly influences Operations, Sales and Mechanical & Finance. Also leads squads to deliver projects from concept to market launch.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
•5+ years' progressive experience in an industrial products business.
