Overview

RES is seeking an Environmental Project Manager I / II with 5+ years of experience based out of our Raleigh office.

The mission: To own the delivery of large and complex environmental restoration projects on-time, within scope and within budget, for the Carolinas region. You will be focused on planning, developing, permitting, and managing the various projects that support water resources management and environmental restoration activities, from inception through monitoring and maintenance. For that, you will identify and/or create and analyze projects to assist clients in meeting their goals, which may include local, state, and federal government goals and regulations on water resources or ecological restoration across various watersheds.

RES is a complex organization, and you will be simultaneously responsible for multiple projects, which means that you will be constantly communicating with different teams of people speaking “different languages” – external stakeholders, project partners, technical modeling staff, etc. You will also be the main face of RES for our clients, and part of your job is understanding and managing their expectations – therefore communication skills are key.

You will be managing agreements, formulating and evaluating conceptual designs, developing operations plans in coordination with project engineers and modelers, coordinating and managing the design and construction of projects across multiple disciplines, maintaining project reporting and compliance documentation in accordance to agreements with clients and permits with regulators, as well as developing cost-effective means to evaluate and quantify project benefits.

Responsibilities

What your day-to-day might look like?

You will be supporting new and existing projects, in all project phases. You will be developing project scopes, schedule, and costs, based on your evaluation of the financial feasibility and regulatory and technical requirements.

You will also be estimating and evaluating bids from subcontractors and managing subcontractors.

You will be managing teaming agreements and consultants and providing QA/QC.

You will be on site to review project sites, meet with regulators, and assess construction progress.

You will be interacting with our project accounting team, supporting the revenue recognition process and the delivery of the financial reports, so advanced experience with business financials is expected.
