ROLE:

A San Francisco Bay Area-based renewable energy IoT stealth-mode startup based in Francisco Bay Area, CA is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering department and drive our technology strategy forward. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and proven leadership experience.

The VP of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering organization, developing and implementing engineering strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of technology projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision. The VP of Engineering will work closely with other executive team members to align engineering goals with broader business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute the engineering strategy in line with the company's vision and goals.

Lead and mentor engineering teams to foster a collaborative and innovative culture.

Participate in executive decision-making and provide technical insights to the executive team.

Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.

Establish clear performance metrics and provide feedback to ensure team growth and success.

Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation.

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Drive the adoption of best practices, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency and quality.

Identify opportunities for innovation and lead initiatives to implement new technologies.

Ensure engineering processes and products comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Implement and maintain robust security practices to protect company data and intellectual property.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).

At least 10 years of experience in engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strategic thinker with the ability to align engineering goals with business objectives.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

Experience with designing and developing high-power DC/DC converter or high-power electronics.

Experience with firmware and cloud analytics is also a plus
