Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Drafter/Programmer (CNC) to join our team in Thomasville, GA. The Drafter/Programmer (CNC) is responsible for transforming design concepts into precise instructions for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) plasma cutting machines. Your primary duties will involve utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed drawings and converting them into machine-readable code. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient production of metal components and structures. Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment, and ability commensurate with technical positions in similar industries or situations. Performs relatively complex drafting tasks in preparing various drawings of intricately designed parts and assemblies and prepares several views. Makes arithmetic computations using standard formulas, calculates dimensions, allowances and technical specifications. Makes final drawings from instruction or revisions indicating dimension of parts, quantities of materials to be used, load capacities, etc. Checks work of other drafters and may assist them as needed. Recognizes need for and performs simple computer design customizations. Initiates Engineering Notices when required and generates complete Bills of Materials. Interacts with product engineering department to determine revisions required, or the establishment of new drawing specifications. Writes programs which will generate sales order drawings (wiring and dimension) based on order input information. Other Duties: Internal Contacts: Contacts required as a a regular part of daily duties involving work of a non-controversial nature, to include frequent contact with MIS programmers and order entry analysts. External Contacts: Little contact except with immediate co-workers. Basic Requirements: Education: 2-3 year degree/certificate in Technical field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in drafting and programming maintenance. Physical Skill & Effort: Work requires skilled, accurate, rapid, and closely coordinated manual skill. Work requires a considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion. Working Conditions and Hazards: Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible/little or no exposure.
