Columbus Crew Vacancy summary Salary: Competitive plus company benefits The Head of Individual Development and Coaching will perform a key function in our club’s strategy for player development. This role will interact with all players and coaches in the Columbus Crew Academy and Crew 2 programs to accelerate the growth of top prospects with the goal of developing 1st team players to play in MLS.

Individual Development

Oversee the execution of the Individual Development program for Academy and Crew 2 players. Oversee and manage the Player IDP process for all Academy and Crew 2 Players. Oversee the execution of the IDP+ programming and supplemental training for the club’s emerging talents. Link IDPs to training and the clubs coaching program regarding positional, unit, and team specific content. Work with relevant departments and coaches to prioritize individual developmental goals and provide consistent player feedback. Driving a culture where individual focus and feedback with (self) training is of top priority. Coaching Provide monthly coaching reviews for Academy and Crew 2 coaching staff that aligns with One Club coaching methods. Daily contribution to the clubs coaching methods, periodization, and training sessions as well as competitive game strategy andplanning. Daily contribution on the field with Crew 2 and Academy teams, with the focus of individual player development in both training sessions and games. Take a lead role in curriculum development with an emphasis on principles of play, One Club methods, and Academy vocabulary. Liaise with Director of Player Development to create and maintain coaching guide for ages and stages of development. Plan and execute annual calendar for weekly Player Development technical meetings, in collaboration with Director of Player Development. Liaise with Analysis departments to create video and data library linked to the curriculum. Additional To serve as a member of the clubs Technical and Emerging Talent committee Recommendations for future improvements in all aspects of Individual Development and Coaching. To execute additional tasks as required to meet the clubs’ evolving priorities. Contribute to the Academy scouting and recruitment efforts. REQUIREMENTS

A License coach with EFCL certificate preferable. Work experience in a professional academy for 5 years plus. Interest in player development theory and approaches. Strong tactical knowledge with applied coaching methods. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint,andvideo analysis systems. Ability to concisely communicate feedback and progress summaries. Demonstratedabilitytobuildanddevelopprofessionalrelationships. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality. Proven ability to listen, understand and communicate effectively. A positive, winning attitude, incorporating integrity, discretion, and high standards. Ability to work proficiently both on the field and in the office. Enthusiasm for continued learning is extremely important. Ability to think quickly and act with diligence and speed while utilizing an attention to detail. Ability to collaborate in a team environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to actively listen. Detail-oriented and critical thinking.
