Engineering Manager Main Responsibilities:
Understand the philosophy and vision of our company and engineering department, align the team's vectors, and guide them in the right direction
Report to General Manager and Senior General Manager
Guiding and backing up Engineering section members on their main tasks
Make proposals to the manager regarding mid-term activity planning of Engineering section
Make proposals to the manager regarding action guidelines and activity targets for the Engineering section
Advise manager about target setting and evaluation of appraisal for Engineering section members
Lead Engineering section members and assign jobs, to achieve Mid-term plan and yearly activity targets
Provide training and direction to Engineering section members via daily activity to increase their capabilities
Attend management events and make presentations as per the manager’s request
Attend monthly Management meetings as per manager’s request
Taking part in recruitment, interviews and orientation plans for new colleagues of Engineering section as per managers request
Make monthly reports and activity lists for the Engineering section
Manage appraisal meetings of Engineering members with evaluation and guidance to achieve our yearly activity target
Continue to work as an Engineer, on an as-needed basis when requested by the managers
Establish and provide internal training
Any other reasonable duties, which may be required by management from time to time
Engineering Manager Ideal Candidate:
Several years of professional level engineering experience on electronics parts
Additional design experience on similar products
3D CAD operations experience, particularly CoCreate Modelling and SolidWorks would be advantageous
Experience in mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes (injection molding, punching, component placement, welding, automatic-optical inspection)
Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, mechatronics or higher qualification
Fluency in both German and English
Understanding of a Japanese corporate culture is needed
Proficient in MS Office
Strong problem-solving capability on complex applications and technical issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Pro-active and hands-on attitude and be very approachable
Willing to travel, international orientation
