Position Overview and Purpose

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position requires a strong understanding of Repair and Maintenance business processes and operations, as well as the willingness to adapt to and excel in a dynamic business environment. The role of the Shop Manager will be to oversee the maintenance, upfitting, and repair of all assigned generators in Midland. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations and will ensure that all company equipment is properly repaired to meet Baselines repair goals, upfit requirements, and runtime expectations. This role will also be responsible as a resource for shop foremen in other basins and/or regions as assigned.

Maintenance Management

Work directly with Maintenance and Operations Leadership to improve company-wide processes regarding training, repair, scheduling, and maintenance standards

  • Direct leadership of maintenance shop teams covering a 24/7 operating capability to drive equipment availability and customer uptime
  • Work with Director of Maintenance to strategically prioritize and schedule assets from For Inspection line to Ready-To-Rent line
  • Work with the Director of Maintenance to organize and prioritize equipment upfit related work with minimal guidance and manage priorities, projects, and special requests in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure all parts necessary for upcoming repairs are on the shelf before the assets is scheduled for repair, based on forecasts and managed shop queues
  • Under the direction of maintenance management, lead shop foremen to build quarterly budgets for R&M and overhaul
  • Manage parts check out and RigER inputs
  • Assist with developing and executing quality control processes at all BES shops
  • Standardize all Baseline facility parts rooms
  • Champion inventory reporting for all Baseline facilities
  • Assist with championing the fluid analysis program at a companywide level, including communicating abnormal reports to Operations leadership and assisting with report publishing when needed.
  • QA/QC responsibility for assets leaving the facilities for customer sites. This includes providing detail in the form of an RCA for all shop comebacks.

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to other shop personnel, challenges, troubleshooting and parts ordering.
  • Leverage data and other shop trends to develop best practices in the form of technical service bulletins.
  • Regularly monitor and audit transactions in RigER that are shop related. This includes all assets repaired have a repair card against them with parts consumed listed.
  • Expected travel for the Shop Manager role is to be 25%

Personnel Management Responsibilities

  • frequent guidance and performance feedback (annual and ad hoc) to team members in accordance with HR policies and procedures.

Safety Responsibilities

  • maintain and promote safe work habits in accordance with Baseline, customer, and industry HSE standards to uphold Baselines culture of safety
  • a high sense of safety ownership and compliance to all regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, TCEQ, EPA, Baseline HSE Procedures, etc.)
  • with the execution of root cause failure analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience managing a team of rental professionals in oilfield service or similar industry.
  • degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • knowledge of natural gas power generation products preferred
  • ability to lead a technical team made of up highly skilled Technicians and Mechanics
