The Dot, a local café run by Maps Credit Union, is located in our beautiful new High Street Branch near downtown Salem, Oregon. The goal of the café is to engage with our members in new ways and to tell the story of our community giveback and charitable arm, Maps Community Foundation. The Lead Barista contributes to this goal by providing warm and engaging member service while also serving quality beverages, food products, and services. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated and able to work independently as a solo barista.
Key responsibilities of the Lead Barista include, but are not limited to:
The ideal candidate will have the highest level of ethical behavior and a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of customer service, cash handling, and barista experience is required. Prior experience in a lead role in the food service industry is preferred. Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card or be able to obtain the card within 30 days of hire. Must be bondable.
Non-exempt pay range: $18 - $22 per hour, plus tips.
Work schedule: This position is considered "Part-Time Plus" (30-36 hours per week). The Lead Barista will be scheduled to work 4 days per week, from 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM. The Lead Barista must be available to work Monday - Friday, but a flex day off will be offered, depending on coverage needs.
The Dot is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
