The right candidate will be able to provide an exceptional patient care experience that promotes healing and recovery, and having an attention to detail mindset while being caring and compassionate.If you're a people person looking to join an amazing company in the world of Orthopaedics, this is the place for you!We are currently hiring Medical Assistant Receptionist at the following locations: Ridgewood and Mission Trail (Southeast)What You'll Do:Receptionist Functions:Greets customers in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner. Provides any necessary instruction/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of customers arrival.Updates patient information (such as insurance cards, drivers license, authorizations, and referrals). Administers tablets for completion of personal health information including privacy policies and financial policies.Collects co-payments, deductibles and outstanding balances such as out-of-pocket expenses.Give detailed explanation of benefits and financial agreements. Answers phones in a pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously.Schedules follow-up appointments, as required by physician teams. Enters charges into computer system.Prints charge tickets and necessary paperwork for next day clinic.Medical Assistant Functions:Prepares and cleans patient exam roomsEscorts patients to exam roomObtains and records vitals/patient history/referring physicianPrepares patient injection site for ProviderAssists and applies durable medical equipment as directed by the ProviderOrders/sends lab work to appropriate facilityWhen trained, assists and applies durable medical equipment as directed by the physician, removes sutures and post-operative dressings.Prepares lab specimens for shipment to appropriate facility.Enters/scans all clinical paperwork into the Athena.Assists Supervisor with daily clinical activities to ensure clinic runs smoothly and timely Assists teams with preparation of clinical charts prior to clinic. This includes reviewing charts to ensure that ancillary and lab reports, MRIs. are included in the patient chart prior to their visit. Reviews charts to determine which patients need xrays and/or cast room when arriving for clinic.Schedules follow up testing per Physician ordersAccurately labels and scans documents into EMR systemWhat Youll Need:Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Nationally Registered Medical Assistant Certification preferred.Must have at least one-year work experience in a clinical setting and as a medical assistant, or equivalent experience in a customer service role.Must have exceptional customer service skills. Familiarity with insurance benefits is a plus. Must be computer literate, with basic knowledge of MS office products, and general office machines such as fax, copier, etc..Must have the ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrate team cooperation.Requires prolonged standing, stretching, and some bending. A minimum of 50 lbs. may be required. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopies, telephone, and other equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate information to patients and team members. Normal but fast-paced work environment.
