We are seeking a full-time, remote Cyber Security Specialist. The Cyber Security Specialist will provide security to networks, cloud deployments, data centers and software systems. In addition, this role is responsible to monitor for and mitigate any attempted attacks or breaches. It is expected the Security Specialist will stay abreast of developing trends in the field and will propose new layers of protection for any new threats. This role is also responsible for maintaining documentation that supports compliance with various security controls for questionnaires and audits. The Security Specialist will have exposure to cyber security projects, including working with project managers and other stakeholders. This job role provides support for operational issues arising from work-flow interactions with security layers and is well-versed in OWASP testing and .NET/JAVA application code reviews. The Security Specialist will be comfortable working with both traditional and new security tools found in all realms of the security world and will be the curious sort that will ask questions and find answers to anything that looks out of the ordinary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Have a strong appetite for learning, be able to recognize areas for improvement and improve.
  • Day-to-day operations, support and maintenance of various security-related platforms including (non-exhaustive):
    • Log aggregation and/or SIEM systems
    • Vulnerability Management systems
    • Anti-malware systems
    • Firewall systems
    • Intrusion detection and prevention systems
    • Data Loss Prevention systems
    • Identity services and management systems
    • Code review systems
    • Cloud solutions
    • Secure mail gateway solutions
  • Monitor performance of systems with an eye for variances threatening the confidentiality, integrity or availability of them
  • Leverage strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain healthy liaison with other teams, business partners, vendors and other service providers.
  • Utilize excellent reasoning skills to evaluate multiple potential solutions to complex problems and resolve security issues.
  • Develop solutions and processes to track security compliance metrics.
  • Coordinate security training and reporting.
  • Assist and support project management processes.
  • Be familiar with and able to support both threat analysis and risk analysis for various purposes.
  • Document configurations, specifications, processes and procedures for various systems.
  • Perform additional support functions as needed.
  • Responsible for complying with Paradigm IT security requirement and policies.
  • Responsible for safeguarding Paradigm or Paradigm related IT passwords.
  • Responsible for notifying Paradigm of any IT security incidents per policy 16.0 Information Security Incident Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Candidates must have 4+ years’ experience in a system administration or system engineering role in a Microsoft environment.
  • At least 2 years in a security-focused role
  • Familiarity with the risk assessment process, HITRUST audits, SOC-2 audits and ISO 2700x controls is desired.
