Position Summary:

The qualified applicant will be expected to perform a variety of entry level tasks with part assembly support as the main focus. This individual may also start training on part assembly if they possess the desire and skill set required. At a minimum, the technician will be expected to operate under minimal supervision during the training process. Support of the preparation of components for elastomeric bonding may also be required.



Responsibilities

  • Preparation of raw metals: Masking, blasting, adhesive mixing.
    • Masking: ability to mask raw metals using masking tape or fixtures as instructed.
    • Blasting: ability to blast masked metals using proper blasting techniques as trained. This also includes performing daily maintenance of the blasting equipment.
    • Adhesive mixing: ability to mix adhesives to the correct ratios. As part of this function one must be trained on proper handling of chemicals, proper mixing/dilution of adhesives.
  • Maintain adhesive mixing station. General cleanliness of work area.
  • Able to perform these tasks at established production rates and inspect / verify that all prepped parts meet all quality requirements.
  • Follow all work instructions as trained; including but not limited to Molding Manuals, Assembly manuals, Work Orders (routers), Supplemental Quality Inspections, General Workmanship Standards, etc.


Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • A positive “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team oriented atmosphere.
  • Flexible with respect to job re-assignments.
  • Possess the desire to learn additional job functions within the department. (e.g. Assembly; Final Assembly and Pack-out; Finished Part Testing; Other miscellaneous duties as needed.)
  • Must be able to read and write English and pass a basic math test.
  • Ability to follow instructions from management as well as senior technicians as instructed.
  • Basic MS Office computer skills and knowledge of Excel and E-mail preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required.
  • Higher education in a technical field preferred.
  • Previous experience with Injection or Transfer Molding preferred.
