To meet our needs, we are currently seeking a Network Engineer professional to perform network deployments, installation and maintenance. Position requires a highly motivated individual capable of operating within a small team limited supervision. Collaboration with other departments will be necessary to execute and deliver against both Corporate and Customer objectives. Interaction with Customers and Help Desk staff will be required upon escalation.

Responsibilities:

Working knowledge and experience with IP communications (IPv4, IPv6, routing protocols)
Technical knowledge and experience with Cisco, Cisco IOS and Meraki with desired skills on Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW), specifically Fortinet.
Analyze, test and repair Layer 1/2/3 network problems. Ensure services conform to customer-mandated SLAs for latency, packet loss, jitter, throughput. Ability to test using standard protocols and instruments.
Respond to and resolve network alarms. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
Work very closely with NOC for all escalations and scheduled maintenance.
Application of security updates and patching in a timely manner, monitor network usage, assess the network performance to ensure present and future requirements are met.
Participate in on-call rotation. Willingness to participate in escalated issues as required.
Demonstrate leadership in managing customer networks, proactively track and escalate issues, engage resources to expedite service/network outages, professional interaction skills with customers and management

Must be able to effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously through effective work prioritization.
Documentation â??Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
Procedures and Processes â?? Ability to provide explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Writing â?? Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Qualifications Required:

Experience:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Proven Hands-on network engineering experience.
CCNA or higher (CCNP and/or CCIE desirable).
Solid understanding of the OSI model.
Education: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5-10 years of experience.

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives. Hybrid work schedule possible, though primary work location will remain in the office. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Travel

Minimal local travel in the Washington Metropolitan Area required.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
