JOB SUMMARY

Night Shift Sunday-Thursday (11pm-7am)

Perform Safety/Security officer duties associated with risk management of persons and property. These functions include monitoring and maintaining the facilitys fire protection systems, responding to incidents involving injury or damage to personnel or property, securing the plant perimeter. Fostering compliance with Federal, State and local safety-related regulations under the direction of the Safety/Security leadership and perform other tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Facility inspections, including but not limited to, emergency equipment, eye washes, interior/exterior doors, emergency exits, special extinguishing systems, fire protection, confined space equipment, first aid supplies, etc.

2. Monitor Security Systems; alarms, cameras and door access.

3. Respond to all plant emergencies.

4. Assist with accidents and incident investigations.

5. Maintain accurate incident reports, documentation, and confidentiality.

6. Work closely with all levels of employees and management in regard to safety hazards, inspections, and training activities.

7. Conduct fire alarm drills and evacuations.

8. Maintain and have operational knowledge of the fire alarm panel and sprinkler system.

9. Monitor confined space entries.

10. Monitor all contractors for compliance with all Regulatory and OSHA standards.

11. Maintain Badge ID system and provide ID badging for all employees.

12. Provide certified Lift-truck training to employees.

13. Working with and providing guidance to Contract Security.

14. Monitor severe weather and provide necessary updates to leadership.

15. Must be willing and able to adjust work schedule as needed to meet full security coverage requirements.

16. Report any and all domestic and other related situations.

17. Assist safety department with monthly safety meetings and other plant training.

18. Assist plant leadership with facility security needs (parking lot safety/security, property removal, vehicle needs, wanted and unwanted visitors); Securing plant shut down and start up conditions.

19. Participate in Safety meetings, i.e. Department, Cross Functional and Safety Working Groups as needed.

20. Provide support for the ISO 18001 Environmental & 45001 Safety certifications.

21. Monitor plant and departmental bulletin boards for approved and appropriate postings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel. Smartsheet experience a plus.

Good organizational skills; ability to plan and manage multiple priorities.

Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms with all levels of the organization.

Ability to handle and control emergency and volatile situations safely and professionally.

Ability to train others to a level of proficiency.

Ability to obtain required certifications for position (OSHA, etc).

Ability to give and receive feedback in a professional manner.

Working knowledge of ISO procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

2+ years of safety/security experience. Previous military, law enforcement or leadership experience may substitute for one year safety/security experience. Must have a valid drivers license and flexibility to work any shift.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy work. Tasks involves pushing / pulling, lifting, and handling material up to 50 pounds plus standing and walking during a minimum eight hour shift. Requires occasional climbing (high work).

ENVIRONMENT:

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
