Epsilon C5I is seeking an imagery scientist/engineer with at least 7 years of experience in electro-optics or photonics hardware engineering, software development, algorithm development, and analysis. The position will support the research, development, and characterization of system capabilities. This position is contingent upon award expected to by the end of July 2024. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, analyzes and enhances image processing algorithms.

  • Establishes and manages data processing requirements.

  • Designs studies, discusses field tests with community partners, documents plans, and conducts sensor characterization, and field test activities.

  • Administers various tests and experiments to validate image processing algorithms.

  • Develops and manages project development plans.

  • Documents the methods, procedures and test results.

  • Integrates numerous advanced concepts, data and information from diverse areas in order to synthesize an approach or technique to solve a problem.

  • Prepares and presents reports, papers, proposals, briefings, and other documentation pertinent to the position.

  • Apply and develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.

  • Possess sufficient writing and communication skills to prepare and present reports, papers, proposals, briefings and other documentation pertinent to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in engineering, science, or mathematics.

  • At least seven (7+) years of experience with optics or photonic systems and data.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance or TS SCI/eligible.

  • Proven experience in researching, developing, and presenting advanced theories and concepts.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.

  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Desired Qualifications:

  • PhD in engineering, physics, or mathematics preferred.

  • Subject matter expert in Electro-optics and photonics.

  • Experience and understanding of sensor architecture and associated requirements/collection protocols.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the development and use of mission software tools (STK, SOAP, others)

  • Experience with software (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and Fortran)

  • Experience with sensor characterization and field testing.

  • Regular communication (hearing/speaking).

  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.

  • Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).

  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.

  • Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
