Our facility in Burnet, TX is seeking an Analytical Operations Supervisor with general knowledge of analytical chemistry and techniques applied to the characterization of complex mixtures. This knowledge is required to develop analytical methods, provide support to the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality groups via QC analysis. This opportunity allows the right person to expand their technical skill set and participate on a dynamic team in a growing organization.

The ideal candidate will be results oriented and an excellent team player, with solid knowledge of chemistry, materials science & physics, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage 2nd shift testing and laboratory projects (may require nights and weekends)
  • Lead and develop an empowered workforce that is focused on data quality, continuous improvement, achieving performance targets, and sustainable productivity improvements
  • Oversee, train, and conduct analysis as defined by existing work instructions on raw materials and finished goods to ensure QC/QA
  • Develop and execute resource plans to meet business needs
  • Provide technical support and consultation regarding analytical services and data to internal and external customers
  • Perform and interpret material characterizations using analytical instruments
  • Use proper controls for analytical instrumentation, validates and verifies data and takes corrective action when necessary
  • Maintain instrumentation and performs procedures for product testing purposes
  • Test and analyze R&D samples, manufactured materials, and in-process samples when needed
  • Work on cross-functional teams as analytical subject matter expert

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Physics or Engineering required
  • General lab instrument (HPLC, IC, GC, ICP-MS, ICP-OES) operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience preferred ICP-MS strongly preferred
  • 5 - 6 years of related managerial/technical experience or training preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office; LIMS experience preferred
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely
  • Ability to travel 5% of time, some international
  • Be able to reach, squat, stoop and routinely lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
  • Be able to work on your feet for 7 hours a day and perform repetitive hands-on tasks
