Research Coordinator
The FMT Lab at Hillman Cancer Center (HCC) is seeking a highly motivated research Coordinator to join our group. The research Coordinator will take part in organizing and coordinating research teams and assisting with grant submission and reporting. The candidate will work in a highly multidisciplinary environment providing the PI with research team support and grant coordination to meet grant deliverables of several projects within the lab. The Research Coordinator will work under the direction of Dr. Diwakar Davar in the FMT Lab. This position is both patient-facing and wet-lab orientated.
Job duties will include:
Microbiome therapies for use in fecal microbiome transplant (FMT) studies
Sample collection
Collect and analyze data
The candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in a research lab or with clinical trials. Must be proficient in collection of data and specimens, work independently, and possess analytical skills to determine eligibility of potential cases and control research subjects for accurate recruitment and reporting. Previous experience with producing written reports is preferred. The applicant must attend weekly team meetings to report progress.
Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills are required. The applicant must work well with others in order to contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. The candidate will be expected to remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or seminars as directed by Dr. Davar.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
