Job Title: Staff Psychologist
Location: On-Site, Boston
Position Type: Full-Time
Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Staff Psychologist will provide high quality mental health treatments to a culturally diverse population of children from kindergarten through 10th grade, utilizing trauma-informed and evidence-based practice (EBP). The Staff Psychologist will function as the internal case manager and team-leader for their assigned students and will actively participate in all Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, as well as internal treatment planning, caregiver, and collateral meetings. The Staff Psychologist will also have opportunities to provide direct supervision for doctoral level practicum students and to participate in The Baker Center's training committee, which includes supervision of doctoral students participating in our APA internship program.

Essential duties:
  • Provide weekly therapeutic services to an assigned caseload of students.
  • Co-lead weekly clinical groups that support identity work and social-emotional learning
  • Conduct diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments.
  • Provide consultation and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Coordinate care with families, community-based providers, government agencies, and other collaterals, as appropriate.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology
  • Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider in good standing in Massachusetts or interest in transferring out-of-state licensure
  • Candidates with their doctorate in School, Clinical or Counseling Psychologist who are in the process of obtaining licensure will also be considered.
Experience:
  • 3 years of experience within a fast-paced environment, and exposure to school, inpatient and residential settings, preferred.
  • Experience with cognitive and psychological assessments and with writing comprehensive integrated reports.
  • Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices (CBT and/or DBT are especially beneficial).
  • Experience with and training in risk assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Clinical supervision experience of psychology practicum and doctoral level psychology interns preferred.
