POSITION SUMMARY
Provide HVAC maintenance support on the Fort Belvoir project site. Performs maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and repairs on various types of air-conditioning, dehumidification, refrigeration, ventilation, and heating systems equipment and controls within critically controlled environmental installations. This position supports a client with 24/7 requirements, and the candidate must be able to work 8-12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Research specifications provided by other parties and make installation corrections required, ensuring proper equipment function as needed by tenant agency requirements.
Building maintenance tasks must be performed to proficiency, including, but not limited to, making adjustments and repairs to HVAC and electrical systems.
Performs preventative maintenance functions, which include, but are not limited to, changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating, and cooling coils.
Responsible for emergency after-hour callbacks determined by the facility coordinator and all other assigned duties not to exceed the technical level of the HVAC Mechanic.
Functions independently to make decisions and sound recommendations concerning HVAC operations and maintenance required experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
Three – five years of experience as a licensed HVAC mechanic.
Three years of DDC Controls experience
Shall have knowledge of electrical and mechanical operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment. 3-5 Years of master’s level experience required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing.
High noise levels are expected with general maintenance.
Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role requires work in office and non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations.
Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
Requires the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
It requires wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, a fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, a hard hat, and hearing protection.
Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
Must obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card.
Must have a Master HVAC license.
Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
Must be a legal U.S. Resident per contract.
Must be able to communicate clearly in the English Language per contract.
