Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong knowledge of production efficiencies, cutting technology and industrial applications. Other necessary manufacturing engineering skills include project management ability, commitment to quality, and familiarity with safety and environmental standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Production Associates and Engineering to identify and correct any work ticket/Bill of Material (BOM) errors along with presenting any process improvements suggestions.
  • Review internal and external design drawings for completeness.
  • Supports the purchase and installation of new equipment.
  • Ability to program, run and maintain CNC and Waterjet machines.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
  • Partner with Continuous Improvement lead for all In-lining and Kanban projects; this includes preparing space and designing the proper flow of an Assembly Line from start to finish. These projects also include working closely with Engineering and Purchasing.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to provide feedback and data to Production Associates on Out of Box failures or other quality issues that occur.
  • Study production and machine requirements.
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems.
  • Design and install equipment.
  • Support the facility layouts, production lines, machine operations, and network performance.
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes as applicable.
  • Prepares paperwork (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memo) to be given to accounting department for order entry.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Custom manufacturing environments preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience with relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office, Solidworks)
  • Experience with job routings and processing documents, including time studies.
  • Lean implementation and plant re-arrange hands on experience.
  • The ability to prioritize various tasks, communicate technical information through written and verbal means, and solve complex engineering problems through a variety of resources.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Must have ability to work on blueprints and written documentation.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Project management skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Good understanding of an ERP business system (SAGE-100).
  • Proficient in using Microsoft application and general PC knowledge.
