SAIC has opportunities current for a Solution Engineer in Northern Virginia to work within the Intelligence Community collaborating in the potential system design and architecture techniques. The successful applicant will have a strong record for successful complex systems integration, software and data architecture design, and problem solving in large-scale collaborative system environments.

Qualified candidates must possess TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph.Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Integrating new data feeds into High Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC) environment. Monitoring and maintaining active data streams from external sources to the HPCC infrastructure. Monitoring and maintaining availability of the HPCC cluster for analytic support. Planning, testing, and integrating software upgrades for HPCC operations. Providing the software programming expertise to interface the HPCC to the other components of the existing infrastructure. Providing HPCC support, as required, to other personnel. Providing status reports to Technical Targeting Department management as requested. Participating/implementing system architectural upgrades and implementation. Integrating COTS/GOTS products with current product suite to support targeting operations. Simultaneously supporting multiple on-going activities, including: Multiple targeting software and network engineering projects. Consolidation off department technical processes and procedures. Other technical targeting activities of a 30+ person technical targeting department. Provide analytic support tasks that include: Providing in-site raw analytic support to customers, using existing tools within a restricted enclave. Writing special queries against the HPCC using ECL language, and developing and coding special algorithms looking for unique patterns in the data. Assisting the Sponsor in applying HPCC and other IT expertise to process data to enable intelligence analysts to execute rapid, complex, exploratory, and increasingly focused queries against a broad aggregation of data. Identifying high value datasets that should be acquired to provide needed support to the customers. Addressing gaps in the data to facilitate accurate reporting.

Required Qualifications: Expert level proficiency with LexisNexis Data Supercomputer (HPCC), ECL programming language and other related technology areas, such as Linux Operating Systems and high-speed supercomputer networking systems. This expertise shall include at least 5 years of experience in implementing, operating, and providing systems administration support for multi-user LexisNexis Supercomputer environments or alternatively, technical targeting experience using ECL. Architecture and System Design support for Apache Hadoop Technology including the HDFS, Hive, Hbase, and Accumulo. System architecture and administrative support of large scale clustered computing environments (up to 800+) node environments. Minimum of 5 years of Twister Data frame work architecture and engineering support. Administration and coding expertise in SQL across database platforms to include: Oracle, MySQL, and Netezza. Minimum of 5 years successful application development experience in multiple software languages and syntaxes, such as ECL, Java/j2EE/Struts, ASP.Net, AJAX, C#, C++, scripting or interpretive languages, such as JavaScript, PHP, Flex or Cold Fusion, AJAC/DHTML, or UNIX shell script. Clear ability to come-up-to-speed quickly to productively enhance a high-performance team of developers working in a high-stress, mixed contractor/vendor/staff environment of interdisciplinary expert-level peers. Professional familiarity with multiple common operating systems including Microsoft Windows, and various Linux distributions. Effective skills in Microsoft Office automation applications/tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other Sponsor IT systems, including Lotus Notes. Broad understanding of the Customer organization, mission, and culture as well as the ability to interface with other organizations and external IC Customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with Agency INFOSEC process, reviews, and boards. Previous successful support of implementation and O&M for operational systems. Experience programming at the core level on multiple Linux distributions. Strong technical background including Object Oriented Design Methodology. Database modeling, design, implementation, hosting and O&M expertise. Experience working in the customer's environment. Experience with technical targeting operations, including the development of new systems and the O&M of deployed systems and tools.
