About the Position:
National Grid outsources a significant portion of their construction and maintenance work plan. Project Management & Complex Construction (PM&CC) is responsible for overseeing the contractor workforce and managing the contracts governing these arrangements. The PM&CC portfolio is comprised of several key contracts including but not limited to: T-Line, D-Line, Substation, Civil, Support Services, & Storm Emergency.
PM&CC has several departments including the Contracts Department. The Contract Planning & Management (CP&M) group is responsible for developing, managing, and tracking performance on the entire contract portfolio.
The system Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing applications in .NET environment for data collection and project management.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Assist in design, develop and implement new application solutions for multiple on going and future projects.
Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide support and troubleshooting of our systems.
Provide training and assistance to users in the effective use of applications.
Continue development of existing applications.
Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc. including for existing applications.
Verify database and data integrity.
Own the department’s Oracle database.
Manage and develop the database associated with the applications.
Manage the user access to the applications- create new user access, conduct semi annual user audits.
Work with National Grid IS Department to get changes moved to the production environment.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
.NET Framework 2.0 or higher
VB.NET and C#
SQL?development including queries, joins, packages, and stored procedures
Oracle 9.2 (PL/SQL Developer)
Visual Studio
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
A minimum of 5 years experience in software and web development.
Demonstrated experience in end to end development of applications.
Good background in utilizing Oracle Database.
Experience in VB.NET and C#.
Self motivation & team player.
Good Listener and good communicator.
Travel – travel can be expected 3-6 times per year. Mostly day trips.
