Senior Systems Engineer (Job Number:417251)


Provide day-to-day on-site Systems Engineering and Acquisition Support to the Program Manager. Work as part of Government and Contractor technical teams performing general systems engineering. The primary focus of this position is to provide systems engineering support in the broad areas of contract requirements generation/review/compliance, ground and space systems technical review and assessment, risk assessment, integration and test, verification and validation, and written technical summaries as required. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Department of Defense acquisition policy and be capable of developing acquisition documentation in support of technical projects. The position is primarily focused on space and ground based systems that commonly support each other. Travel can be anticipated 10% of the time.

Position Location: El Segundo, CA

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Evaluate contractor performance and provide verbal and written assessments to the Program Manager or Chief Engineer
2. Assess all aspects of contractor systems engineering and compliance to the contract requirements documents
3. Develop documentation to support acquisition activities, specifically contract documentation, statements of work, requests for proposals, and milestone documentation
4. Work closely with Aerospace and SETA counterparts to make recommendations to the government on all systems engineering functions (requirements, risk, interfaces, integration, test, etc.)


Education Qualification, Clearance, Experience and Skills
1. Bachelor's Degree. B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics (Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related Science discipline desired), M.S. preferred
2. 8+ years of project management experience ( Business operations or strategic planning experience preferred)
3. Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
4. Ability to effectively work as a member of larger dynamic teams
5. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
6. Hold a current TS security clearance and obtain a TS/SCI
