Instructional Design & Course Developers (ISD) (Job Number:417582)
The Instructional Design and Course Developer (IDCD) is responsible for developing wiring diagrams, flow charts and building content layout for the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) website and Distance Learning (DL) training courses. Their primary duties will include performing instructional design, and be responsible for both in-residence and distance learning course maintenance, review and development. They will handle the modularization of courses, course standardization and course maintenance.
Additionally they will work with IT to develop Learning Content Management System (LCMS) infrastructure necessary to maintain online courses. They will ensure e- learning courses reflect a logical flow, and follow all regulatory requirements within Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act. The will also ensure newly designed courses are cleared for appropriate release before providing it to the programmers to incorporate into the website. The will ensure DNWS compliance with security policies, accreditation standards, and copyright compliance. They will develop plans to increase the program’s ability to enhance course design and strengthen content delivery. They will conduct comprehensive evaluation of all phases of distance learning and outcome achievements. Lastly they will research and implement plans to expand the methods of curriculum presentation in order to appeal students varied learning styles, along with responding to student and staff issues related to distance learning and communication with student and staff instructional stoppage or other distance learning problems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Instructional Design and Course Developer (IDCD) must demonstrate experience developing in-residence and Distance Learning courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. They must demonstrate experience using MS Office products, Storyline, Captivate and HTML 5, remaining current with the technology advances pertinent to assigned duties.
