DHMSM Senior Systems Integration Engineer (Job Number:417990)
System Level Integration: Includes all effort and equipment to assemble, integrate, and test all joint and Segment 1 elements as a whole at the system developer’s facility. For TO 1, this WBS element encompasses the following activities:
- Solution system design support, software configuration
- System integration and configuration support
- Open Systems Architecture design
- Support to Integrated Product Teams and Working Groups; prep for IDR/FRR
- Support to Systems Integration Testing (SIT)
- Development of technical updates to SSS, SSDD, DBDDN, EHR System Implementation Plan, CRTM, DoDAF drawings, and OSA approach
- Performance of Pre-CIT testing
- Performance of CIT testing
Architect, develop, integrate, test, optimize and sustain DHMSM systems and subsystems. Develop integration automation capabilities. Interpretation of system, subsystem, interfaces and software requirements and design specifications is essential. Deep understanding of IT systems, development and integration methodologies, and test processes is a must. Prepares system development cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Prepares and presents project proposals to management and user departments. Establishes programming standards and program documentation requirements. Reviews current status of system applications and prepares recommendations for systems improvements. Monitors design processes and prepares reports on systems projects. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Note: Roles can have an internal or external client focus.
SCOPE: Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s). Works with requirements, software, computer, systems, and integration engineers.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is accomplished without considerable direction. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignments. May determine
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Extensive experience with Windows and Linux-based IT systems, preferably in the realm of Electronic Health Records management. Must have a deep knowledge of design, development, integration, and testing techniques. Must have familiarity with all aspects of product development lifecycle a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years related experience in performing integration of agile-developed software systems and interfaces.
