Cyber Security Engineer (Job Number:418125)
The Information Assurance Specialist L3 (IA L3) satisfies system-wide information security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. The IA L3 documents security architectures and determines the best design alternatives to meet Government requirements. The IA L3 provides leadership and guidance in the development, design and application of solutions implemented by junior IA staff. The IA L3 coordinates with Government senior managers to address program goals, meet milestones, assess resources and determine risks. The IA L3 determines the most likely threat agents and most likely threat actions to occur in both unclassified and classified environments. The IA L3 helps determine the vulnerabilities, risks and impacts on Government systems and networks. The IA L3 applies broad IA expertise to Government and commercial common user systems, as well as dedicated special purpose systems that require specialized security features and procedures. Examples include classified intelligence, access control, biometric security systems, intrusion- detection, and Command and Control-related networks. The IA L3 collects relevant assessment and authorization (A&A) requirements for the Government and develops and tracks all related documentation. The IA L3 develops system A&A test plans and procedures, as needed.
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a Mathematics- intensive discipline, or a similar field.
- Five years of experience in information systems security engineering, emphasis on Defense in Depth principles, cryptography, key management, network and enterprise security architecture, extensive knowledge on Federal, Intelligence Community and 000 Information Security regulations, publications and policies, possesses a solid understanding of A&A processes, strong background in applying information systems security engineering, security services, mechanisms, threats, attack scenarios and vulnerabilities to Government systems and communications infrastructure.
