Project Lead

Position Description
At CGI we have an approach to development and maintenance that extends beyond technology and cost reduction. CGI is looking for a talented Project Lead experienced both in development and operations and maintenance (O&M) support for a small project with one of CGI?s Federal customers.The technical team supporting the US Marine Corp is working to maximize the value and effectiveness of mission critical applications. We are the team accountable for running the operation and development of applications that support case management procedures, credential applications, biometric identification and credential management. We make and maintain tools that improve the efficiency of Marine Corps analytics solutions.

Depending upon availability, this position may be staffed in Manassas, VA, Albany, GA, and/or Lafayette, LA. Your future duties and responsibilities
The Project Lead directs and supervises all support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities. Manages the technical direction of the project through the design, implementation and testing in accordance with project objectives. The Project Lead will manage substantial project/technical support operations involving personnel at diverse locations. Shall have demonstrated organizational skills, information technology expertise and communications skills to be able to interface with all levels of management.
The Project Lead is responsible for the overall management of the specific task order(s) and ensures that the technical solutions and schedules in the task order are implemented in a timely manner.
? Conduct project meetings and maintain consistent status reports on delivery progress
? Supervise CGI personnel and subcontractors working on the project
? Identify, track and resolve issues related to schedule, cost and/or technical risk
? Recommend best solutions based on understanding of business issues.
? Capture and track program metrics and perform analysis.
? Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.
? Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required.
? Document and archive project activities, deliverables, tools and lessons learned for future projects
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? Self-directed and able to work well independently
? Attention to detail, and strong communication, negotiation, client facing and client relationship building skills
? Excellent oral, written and documentation skills
? Experience mentoring and directing activities of less experienced team members
? Ability to lead discussions and facilitate meetings with the customer and senior leadership
? Advanced Experience with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and Project
? Strong problem solving and resolution skills.
? Adaptability to fast paced, evolving environment
? Familiarity with Software and Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
? CMMI Level 3 and Lean Six Sigma Best Practices
? Project Management Professional (PMP)

A minimum of 3-5 years directly related experience and a Bachelor?s Degree.
