Description:



This position will provide U.S. Navy Combat Systems engineering and technical support and subject matter expertise to Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) in support of Legacy Sonar Auxiliary equipment stated below. Applicant will provide technical support, system testing, inspection, repair, replacement and assessment assistance on Surface Sonar Systems/equipment (all mods), peripherals and interfaces. These systems will include, but are not limited to, Hull or Keel Mounted Sonars, Towed Arrays Systems, Sonobuoy Receiving Systems, On-Board Training Systems and In-Situ measurement systems such as Wet Dome Phase Test Equipment and In-Water Collection Boxes. The Surface Sonar support will include one technician for AN/SQS-53(), sonars and their subsystems, which include transducers and stave cables and two technicians for AN/SQR-19, AN/SQQ-28 and AN/SQQ-89 OBT systems and sub-systems, and one Junior Engineer for AN/SQS-53(), AN/SQR-19, AN/SQQ-28 and AN/SQQ-89 OBT systems and subsystems.

Qualifications:
A minimum of (10) years specialized experience troubleshooting and repair of sonar auxiliary systems and subsystems which include AN/WQC-2A underwater communications, AN/UQN-4A Fathometers, AN/BQH-7A Bathythermographs and AN/SLQ-25() Torpedo Defense Systems.

A minimum of (15) year’s general experience with troubleshooting, repair, logistic Support of sonar and/or equivalent systems and subsystems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs necessary for report filing.

The Surface Sonar support will include:

Candidate one: Technician for AN/SQS-53(), sonars and their subsystems, which include transducers and stave cables.

Candidate two: (2) Technicians for AN/SQR-19, AN/SQQ-28 and AN/SQQ-89 OBT systems and sub-systems.

Candidate three: Junior Engineer for AN/SQS-53(), AN/SQR-19, AN/SQQ-28 and AN/SQQ-89 OBT systems and subsystems.

REQUIRED GENERAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Candidate ONE: A minimum of (8) years specialized experience in troubleshooting and repair of SQS-53 (B, C and D) systems and subsystems including repair/replacement of transducers and stave cables in both non-pressurized and pressurized dome environments.

A minimum of (15) year’s general experience with troubleshooting, repair, logistic Support of sonar and/or equivalent systems and subsystems.

Must meet qualifications for certification as a Sonar Dome Diver

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs necessary for report filing.

Candidate TWO: (2) sonar Techs.

A minimum of (6) years specialized experience troubleshooting and repair of sonar auxiliary systems and subsystems which include AN/SQR-19 Towed Array Systems, AN/SQQ-28 Sonobuoy Receiving Systems and AN/SQQ-89 On-Board Training (OBT) systems and subsystems.

A minimum of (6) years general experience with troubleshooting, repair, logistic Support of sonar and/or equivalent systems and subsystems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs necessary for report filing.

Candidate THREE: A minimum of (3) years specialized experience troubleshooting and repair of AN/SQR-19 Towed Array Systems, AN/SQQ-28 Sonobuoy Receiving Systems and AN/SQQ-89 On-Board Training (OBT) systems and subsystems.

OTHER CERTIFICATIONS and QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The candidates must be proficient in drafting Material Assessment Forms (MAF), Technical Assistance Visit Reports (TAVR) and providing INSURV reports using PRISMS program/software. They shall review, assess, maintain and provide recommendations for revisions, updates and changes for all technical documentation relative to the systems listed above. The candidates shall provide scheduling, coordination and documentation (including TAAS or current system in use) of the MARMC technical assistance and assessment support process.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 25%

PASSPORT REQUIRED: A valid unexpired U.S. Passport is required.
