Support Scientist (Job Number:419400)



SUPPORT SCIENTIST to support the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Successful candidate will participate in exciting research and development of a system for operational hydrological models and data assimilation algorithms, on NASA¹s cutting-edge high performance computing platforms, to study the impacts of satellite and in-situ observations on the Earth¹s hydrologic cycle and its role in local and global climate change.


Requires a MS or PhD in Earth Science, civil engineering, or related field, and at least three years research experience, ideally working with hydrological models and data assimilation systems.

Required Experience and Skills: Requires strong programming skills in Java, Fortran, C/C++, MATLAB, Unix/Linux shell scripting. Requires strong written/oral communication skills, and ability to publish and present work. MPI, Python, Perl, IDL a plus.
