About the Position:
The US Risk & Insurance, Analyst / Senior Analyst, provides budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and invoice processing support to Risk & Insurance. Develops budgets and forecasting models to support data provided to U.S. Finance, and provides monthly variance analysis to US Finance. Produces communication of the jurisdiction budget and updates to support forecasting. Prepares exhibits and support schedules for regulatory rate filings. Prepares invoices for payment ensuring proper SAP and allocation codes are charged. Prepares amortization schedules for prepaid insurance. Coordinate with Indirect Tax group the federal and state taxes due on insurance premiums. Reports to the Director US Risk & Insurance.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Responsible for preparing budgets and forecasts to support US Finance.
Provides insight by producing preliminary budgets to support review and buy-in.
Supports budget adjustments and reforecasting to meet the needs of US Finance.
Performs on-going budget review and forecasting to provide current performance trends to support jurisdiction performance.
Utilizes knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX, SEC requirements.
Prepares exhibits and support schedules for regulatory filings and audits.
Prepares vendor invoices for payment, ensure proper SAP account codes and allocation codes are used to properly allocation cost to jurisdictions and service company.
Prepare allocation schedules for insurance premiums not allocated using SAP allocation codes.
Coordinate with Indirect Tax the federal and state tax liability for tax due on insurance premiums.
Assist in the collection of data and preparation of schedules to support disclosure information required for insurance policy renewals.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree preferred - Accounting, Finance or Insurance disciplines.
3+ years in business or data analysis.
Experience in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Experience researching and collecting financial data for accurate budgeting.
Demonstrated business forecasting.
Advanced computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Access; SAP preferred.
Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
