Full Time Employee
The Field Service Representative (FSR) is deeply involved with the Sales and business development process. Assists Account Manager in cultivating new customers and maintaining existing customer base. Provides customer support for the Econolite product line to local and regional government agencies and contractors. Complete knowledge of Econolite product hardware and software applications is required. Systems installation and setup with agencies with some training may be required. Systems installations are typically performed by Econolite’s Systems Integration team. FSR’s work with the Systems Integration team to assure proper start-up of the client’s Central system. In some instances the FSR’s may be asked to perform training.
•Build positive relationships with customers, comprehend customer requirements, and make appropriate recommendations.
•Perform product presentations with the intention of increasing Sales in a given territory.
•Work closely with the Account Managers to ensure fluidity during the Sales process.
•Work with customers to promote products and/or services, with the intention of persuading potential and current customers to renew or purchase products and/or services.
•Provide customer support during field visits. As well as, provide technical support via phone and email.
•Provide consultation and training to Agency Traffic Technicians, Agency Traffic Engineers, Agency Signal Supervisors, Consultants, Contractors and Distributors.
•Perform Project Management roles during product deployments.
•Effectively communicate between Econolite Group Company Support Channels and Distribution Network (i.e. AEGIS, Econolite Control Products, Econolite Distributors, etc.).
•Demonstrate proficiency in Econolite traffic equipment installations and troubleshooting, including (but not limited to) traffic cabinets, traffic controllers, and detection products.
•Read and comprehend technical manuals/documents.
•Exhibit a knowledge of theory, principles, practices, materials and equipment of traffic signal operations, telecommunications and other aspects Intelligent Transportation Systems.
•Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. If a solution cannot be found during the field visit, gather appropriate data and elevate to the next level of the Customer Support Team.
•Be able to review plans and specifications; demonstrate the ability to determine the traffic signal equipment that is required to fulfill the needs of projects.
•Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decreases turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

•Ability to understand and carry out detailed, clearly written or oral instructions
•Serves as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of The Econolite Group, Inc. by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner to support The Brand Promise
•Document daily activities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM (C4)
•Performs other duties as required and assigned
•Excellent customer relations and communication skills
•Computer literacy in the following software: MS Office Suite, Windows Operating Systems, MS Dynamics CRM (C4)
•Applicable Utilities for troubleshooting (i.e. Packet Sniffers, Terminal Emulators, etc.)
•Must know sound practices for networking on large and small scale traffic control systems
•Knowledge of all traffic industry terminology
•Excellent time management skills
•Able to pass IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician certification (IMSA Level 2) within six months of hire
•Minimum two year degree in electronics or comparable work experience; four-year degree preferable
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electronic schematics, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public
•Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
•Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
•Safety sensitive position—will be required to work at busy traffic intersections
•Must be able to use sound judgment, reasoning, and logic to execute tasks
•Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
•Required to drive up to five hours a day
•May work in various, changing outdoor weather conditions, i.e. rain, heat, snow, etc.
•Some travel required
