Marina Manager (Contingency Hire)


: The Marina Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of marina operations.

A primary responsibility is maintaining a rental reservation system for deep–sea fishing boats (30’ and larger), lagoon fishing boats, ski boats, sail boats, and Landing Craft Medium (LCM) boats available for rental. Coordinate the use of LCM for charter or general fishing trips with the Port Operations Manager. The Manager and/or his/her staff

must verify

that all patrons who operate boats are licensed and holders of a current sail boat or powerboat‘s license in accordance with Royal Yachting Association instruction and American Red Cross standards.

The position provides watch-standing boat patrolling services at the lagoon ready to respond at times when watercraft and recreational sailing equipment are in use by patrons so that they stay within bounds.

Working in conjunction with the Port Operations Manager again, develops a total maintenance program for all recreational craft. Additional duties include providing fish cleaning service to patrons on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fish cleaning includes scaling, gutting, filleting and packaging. The Manager is responsible at all times of the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of all watercraft and marina facilities.


EDUCATION: High school or GED diploma


CPR/AED and first aid certification by American red Cross

Sail and powered watercraft handling instructor certification

Sailing instructor certification

EXPERIENCE; Five (5) years of specialized experience as a Marina manager/supervisor

ABILITIES: The candidate must be a self-starter capable of working in a fast paced multi-discipline team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve team goals.

Proven management skills to include effective planning, organizing, directing and controlling with strong decision making capabilities. Excellent analytical skills – data driven, fact based, root cause focused. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to lead a team to consensus.

Understanding of litigation and claims processes and experience with legal communities.

Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and listening.

Ability to interact with staff at all levels from craftpersons to senior executives.

Knowledge base to successfully diagnosis issues that cover multiple areas of interaction.


Fluent in English language

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
