Senior Satellite Bus Systems Engineer (Job Number:420426)


As Satellite Bus Systems Engineer, provide systems engineering and technical assistance for structural, mechanical, and propulsion systems within a Government Program Office.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Work closely with developers, Government leads, technology development offices, subject matter experts, and program managers
- Assist in requirements definition and in development of SOW, technical specifications, and RFP documentation
- Apply program management knowledge to achieve technical performance within cost and schedule constraints. Identify risks to program plans, develop corrective action plans, conduct ECP reviews and technical evaluations, cost and schedule evaluations, and proposal evaluations
- Provide analysis support of mechanical, thermal, environmental, acoustic, shock, propulsion, mass properties, structural loads, stress, deploymnet, alignment, reliability, and mission assurance, to verify the satellite design will satisfy the system requirements
- Support the oversight of anomaly adjudication and resolution by direct fact finding, reviews, audits, inquires, and investigations of processing, testing, or operational failures
- Assist with PMP, Mission Assurance and environmental test analysis and activities
- Assist in maintaining the CONOPs, interfaces, architecture and standards
- Perform requirements analysis, requirements flow-down and traceability and evaluate suitability of verification, qualification, and acceptance methodology
- Perform system, sub-system and unit level design analysis, as necessary, to determine if the design is both adequate to meet program requirements and is cost effective
- Travel within the US 1-2 times per month for up to five days per trip


**Must be a US CITIZEN and hold an ACTIVE TS/SCI with POLY**


- 10+ years' engineering experience with satellite bus subsystems (e.g., structures, mechanisms, propulsion, etc)
- BS in engineering, preferably in aerospace or mechanical
- Experience working in satellite system program office or a satellite development facility


- MS in engineering
- Experience with multiple satellite programs and a variety of satellite busses
- Experience with early life-cycle satellite engineering activities/milestones
