About the Position:
The Assessment Specialist is responsible to manage and coordinate all National Grid pre-hire assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements. This position will supervise staff; plan and coordinate testing services; assist in the selection, development and implementation of appropriate management pre-hire assessments, as well as implementation of procedures, goals and objectives. The Assessment Specialist will oversee testing for the represented workforce through a network of coordinators.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Provide consultation and guidance to Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers regarding available pre-hire testing for management candidates, including selection of appropriate test, cost, administration, scoring, and interpreting results. This may include resources such as Predictive Index, OPQ, etc.
Coordinate and supervise pre/post testing procedures for the represented workforce to include FAT, CAT, PCSimms, clerical and other required pre-employment exams.
Train and supervise all test administrators and proctors; address testing problems and discrepancies with candidates, staff and/or test providers.
Maintain and update computer software to support testing program functions; serve as primary contact between Talent Acquisition, testing providers, testing sites (i.e., DOL) and the business.
Ensure that test standards are upheld and confidentiality is maintained.
Supervise the administration of tests for candidates with disabilities; communicating with candidates, making accommodations according to documentation and using appropriate assistive devices.
Conduct workshops and presentations for HRBPs and Hiring Managers regarding pre-hire assessment testing to bring them up to date on uses, benchmarking, and appropriateness for their needs.
Collaborate with Talent and Technical Training on test methodologies and uses.
Supervise the processing of all required documents needed to carry out testing.
Manage the testing budget.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a business environment.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in psychometrics, statistics and test measurements required
Knowledge of testing administration practices, accreditation standards, and validation testing.
Comfortable in a fast paced environment, with exceptional time management and organizational skills
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and undertake tasks with limited supervision.*
Ability to solve routine and some uncommon problems.
Ability to interpret and implement policies or operating practices for the functional area.
Ability to use a variety of computer software including developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases.
Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, produce routine reports and make recommendations based on analysis.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external clients.*
