Python Developer (Job Number:420515)


SAIC is looking for an experienced software developer to support our customer as it uses software systems in the gathering and processing of telemetry information. The team integrates hardware and software components to verify system capability against system requirements through systematic, repeatable and disciplined analysis and testing methods.

The developer will:

- Support existing systems developed with C++, Java and Python

- Conduct tests in the development environment

- Develop software that is object oriented and conforms to program standards to ensure reusability and repeatability

- Work with version management system to control the release of changes

- Work with bug tracking to resolve moderately complex issues and ensures that all bugs along with solutions are documented

- Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate in oral and written form and to work in a team environment


- Five or more years’ experience developing with C++

- Three or more years’ experience developing with Java

- Three or more years’ experience developing with Python

- Experience using Python for testing

- Experience with Unix calls

- Experience with executing tests

- Experience working with test teams

- Experience working in an Agile environment

- DOE L clearance

Required Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant discipline or equivalent experience (4 years)
- Minimum of 2 years of working knowledge and experience with object-oriented software development using modern programming languages to do system integration of multiple technologies and diverse systems.

- Experience working in a large team (20 or more developers)

- Experience with testing at all levels

- Experience with automated testing and setting up automated testing

- DOE Q clearance (SCI eligible)
