System Engineering Cost Estimator (Job Number:420594)
Description:
SAIC is seeking a junior to mid-level System Engineering Cost Estimator to support a government customer in Reston, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The qualified candidate will join a diverse team that provides cost analysis, requirements analysis, and engineering support to the Federal Government. In particular, the team helps the government to assess acquisition strategies for current and future Space, Ground, and IT systems. These assessments generally focus on affordability and schedule, ultimately informing program budgets and investment decisions.
Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with IC partners to identify and collect cost, schedule, and technical data to support analysis
- Developing and employing MS Excel-based models and tools to analyze data and provide recommendations to senior government leadership
- Evaluating acquisition plans put forth by IC partners and assess their feasibility to deliver requirements within cost and schedule constraints
- Supporting architecture studies to identify potential new trade spaces and opportunities for investment within the IC
Qualifications:
**Must be a US CITIZEN that holds an ACTIVE TS/SCI with POLY**
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience within either the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of core systems engineering disciplines and processes
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience within the Intelligence Community
- Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA
