Defense Policy Analyst (Job Number:420533)
Responsible for planning, conducting, and managing analytic simulations, conferences, workshops, and other related events that analyze national security issues. Works closely with program managers to support or run successful events conducted for the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other government or private sector organizations. The individual will participate with a team to accomplish various assignments requested by the client. Specific tasks include the design, development, and execution of analytic games, tabletop exercises, conferences, presentations, and reports. Duties will include extensive research, writing and editing, supporting the development of game methodologies, and conference/meeting planning and execution. Occasional travel may be required.
Bachelors degree required. Degree in a field related to political science, international affairs, or national security is a plus. Advanced degree preferred.
Candidate must have an active TS/SCI.
The individual should be able to learn quickly and have demonstrated experience accomplishing tasks under limited supervision and tight deadlines. The successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail where the highest quality of products is a constant focus.
A strong ability to work as a contributing team member is a must. The individual will also be required to complete important assignments on a short schedule; and must be able to handle several ongoing projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and common office software applications is required.
The successful candidate will have exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and strong presentation skills; to include an ability to communicate challenging concepts to various audiences is desirable.
Experience working in the field of national security, US military, and/or experience with conference support activities is also desired.
Demonstrated experience conducting complex analysis of strategic issues strongly preferred.
Previous analytic gaming or similar experience a plus.
Prefer 2-5 years’ work experience.
