ManTech is currently seeking an Electronics Technician II to support a highly visible program, The U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) in Charleston, SC.
This is a stable, growth oriented opportunity to be part of a program that significantly impacts our nation.

Must have at minimum a Secret security clearance.
Overview:
Performs moderately complex technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, proto-type models or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Conducts engineering/ development tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in general research work. Diagnoses and corrects electronic circuitry malfunctions. Assists in the development of electronic equipment. Provides design details and recommends modifications to engineering designs as needed. May prepare instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment and systems. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Experience:
Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. One (1) year of practical experience in electronics installation. Note: Experience may be concurrent.

Must have experience with the SHORE installation handbook-Appendix “Q”

**Unique Requirement: Must have experience in installation of electronic/computer equipment, must have experience working with Fiber Optics and CAT V cabling to include making up connections and splicing. Must be able to read and understand system installation drawings.

Required Education:
High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
