About the Position:
National Grid has embarked on a comprehensive Customer Experience Transformation program to fundamentally change how we interact, serve and communicate with our customers. This program consists of a series of customer driven process and technology projects whose goal is to enable new capabilities that will greatly improve National Grid’s customer experience. It will include replacing end of life digital platforms and delivering new levels of customer self-service and communication across multiple channels. We are looking for a technical/data analyst to join our team on this journey. The successful candidate will be a member of a team that will rationalize and optimize complex business process flows related to new gas and electric connections and deliver technical solutions to enable the new business processes. The team will be responsible for leading the design /build and deployment of the new technology platforms across the entire program which will include portals, contact centers, workflow engines and CRM applications. An additional area of responsibility is the conversion of data from legacy environments into the new platform. The ideal candidate will have systems analysis experience in the areas of online commerce, sales force automation, data conversion or other related B2B/B2C applications. This is a very technical and collaborative role that will require the candidate to work equally effective with the software development teams, implementation vendors, process optimization teams and end business stake holders.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Drive requirements elicitation sessions and gain consensus amongst business owners using agile development techniques.
Coordinate requirements walkthroughs, pilots, prioritization and signoffs.
Develop data conversion strategy and processes.
Analyze data, identify data defects and remediate prior to conversion.
Document system designs, process flows, interfaces, data requirement, UI and data migrations.
Work closely with project managers, technical leads, information architects, product managers, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate directly with development team and stakeholders mapping functional requirements to the technical solution using iterative agile techniques.
Review technical design specs to assure consistency with functional and user requirements.
Balance the needs of the business and the technology groups, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of supported applications, and understand the technology impact in supported business areas.
Communicate business and product knowledge to the developers and ensure that high-level business requirements have been properly translated into usable functional requirements.
Help manage changes to baseline requirements through iterative development and conference room pilots.
Assure usability/completeness of proposed solution.
Work closely with QA to develop test cases and to help identify bugs. Lead UAT, and ensure that stated requirements are actually implemented via traceability matrix.
Assist stakeholders and users with deployment and adoption.
Ability assist users maximize productivity of applications and help them leverage existing framework to meet new requirements.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
At least two years experience as a technical analyst with specific experience in ecommerce, sales force automation, logistics or data conversion.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Experience with data profiling tools or very strong experience with excel.
Experience databases and SQL.
Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to take ownership of complex situations and mediate between competing interests, personalities and requirements. Ability to identify options, suggest solutions, and force decisions to advance a project.
Excellent organizational skills. Ability to conscientiously manage and follow up on multiple concurrent tasks and requests on tight deadlines.
Experience with salesforce.com or other ERP/CRM package a plus.
B.S. in CS, IT, Engineering or a related field a plus.
Project Management experience a plus.
