Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Information System Security Specialist to join our team in the San Diego, CA area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech. As a Principal Information Systems Security Specialist you will be responsible for properly securing new and existing virtualized information systems and ensuring operational security is maintained for multiple information systems in a secure environment. You will be responsible for knowing, documenting and implementing system functions, security policies, technical security, and operational security measures.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing appropriate NIST Risk Management Framework technical security for new and existing information systems
  • Ensuring new information system solutions and existing information systems receive Authority to Operate according to RMF
  • Ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the System Security Plan (SSP)
  • Ensuring that all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the information system
  • Reporting all security-related incidents via appropriate channels
  • Initiating protective or corrective measures when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered
  • Developing and maintaining an SSP for each information system
  • Conducting periodic reviews to ensure compliance with the SSP
  • Ensuring configuration management (CM) for security-relevant software, hardware, and firmware is maintained and documented
  • Ensure that system recovery processes are monitored to ensure that security features and procedures are properly restored
  • Ensure all information system security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
  • Formally notifying the Authorizing Official when changes occur that might affect accreditation
  • Ensure that system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle
  • Following procedures developed by the ISSM and authorizing software, hardware, and firmware use before implementation on the system

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in telecommunications, computer science, information systems management, electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar field of study) and seven to nine years experience
  • DoD 8570 certification for IAT Level II and IAM Level 1
  • Risk Management Framework experience a plus
  • Microsoft and VMware certifications a plus

Security Requirements:
US Citizenship and active TS clearance. SCI eligibility highly desired.
